About us

We are not a marketplace, and that is the entire point

Every market we work in already has a good way to find three roofers. What none of them has is a reliable way to get one roof, correctly specified, actually built on the promised date, and documented well enough that you can prove it years later. That gap is the company.

Why this exists

If you need a roof in Ljubljana, Milano or Wien, finding a contractor is not the hard part. One Slovenian marketplace alone lists over 1,400 roofing companies. Austria has mature platforms with thousands of published reference prices. Italy has national lead marketplaces with cost guides for everything. Discovery is solved.

What is not solved is capacity. The sheet-metal and roofing trades sit on official shortage-occupation lists in Slovenia and in Austria, where roofing is additionally a regulated trade you cannot simply hire your way into. A directory full of profiles is not the same as a crew that can start on the fourteenth. Homeowners experience this as three quotes, two no-shows and a start date that moves twice.

The second unsolved problem is verification. Once a roof is finished, almost everything that determines how long it will last is invisible — the membrane laps, the fastening pattern, the ventilation path, the taping around every penetration. You are asked to take it on trust, and the industry has spent decades demonstrating why that is unwise.

So we built the opposite of a marketplace. The roof is surveyed before it is priced, specified against the requirement actually in force at your address, quoted as three fixed packages, photographed layer by layer before each one disappears, and handed over as a dossier you can give to a buyer’s surveyor a decade later. A date is confirmed in writing once the executor, the access, the evidence and the availability have all been checked — not before. It is slower to scale than a directory. It is the only version of this business worth running.

We began in Slovenia deliberately: a compact market with a confirmed labour shortage, local manufacturing for the core systems, and short enough distances to prove the operation before extending it. Northern Italy followed for renovation scale and its genuinely difficult compliance environment. Austria came last, because entering a regulated trade properly takes longer than entering an unregulated one.

How we work

Six rules we do not bend

Each one exists because it is the thing homeowners most often lose out on when a roofing project goes wrong.

  • Survey before price

We do not quote roofs from photographs and postcodes. The survey produces the scope and the scope produces the price — which is why our variations are rare and why we can hold a figure once we have given it.

  • Photograph what disappears

Every hidden layer is recorded before it is covered, timestamped and geotagged. It is the only way a homeowner can verify work they paid for and cannot see.

  • Name the standard

Build-ups are calculated against the requirement in force at the property address — not a national default, and never a rule of thumb. In Austria that can change across a provincial border.

  • Confirm the date in writing, or not at all

A start date is given once the executor, the access arrangement, the evidence and the availability are all settled in writing. In a market with an official roofing shortage, a date offered before those four are checked is a guess, and you are the one who carries it.

  • One responsible party

Where a project takes in both the roof and the array, a single warranty boundary spans the two. You never have to work out whose problem a leak is.

  • Say what is not included

Every package lists its exclusions as prominently as its inclusions. A specification that only tells you what you are getting is a marketing document.

Start with the survey. Decide after you have read it.

A fixed-fee survey, a written condition report with annotated photographs, a realistic remaining service life and a costed action list. Credited in full against your project if you go ahead — and still useful if you do not.
