Three markets, three different jobs
A roof in Koper, a roof in Bologna and a roof in Salzburg face different weather, different building law and different customer expectations. We entered them in that order deliberately: Slovenia to prove the operation on a compact market with a confirmed labour shortage, northern Italy for renovation scale, Austria last because entering a regulated trade properly takes longer than entering an unregulated one.
Slovenia
Roofing in Slovenia — price bands, permits and warranties
Slovenia has no shortage of roofing companies and a real shortage of available roofing crews. The trade sits on the national shortage-occupation list, marketplaces carry live requests marked "immediately", and homeowners routinely wait weeks for someone to turn up. We built our Slovenian operation around that single problem.

Italy
Roofing in Italy — price bands, permits and warranties
Italy has the largest renovation market of our three and by far the most complicated one. Permitting depends on your comune, structural design follows NTC 2018, seismic classification varies enormously across the country, heritage and landscape constraints apply to a great many buildings, and a 50% tax deduction is available in 2026 to work that is correctly classified and documented. Being a good roofer is not sufficient here.

Austria
Roofing in Austria — price bands, permits and warranties
Austria has the strongest demand signal of our three markets and the highest barrier to entry. Permitted dwellings rose 3.7% in 2025 and about 7.7% year on year in Q1 2026, while roofers and sheet-metal workers sit on the official shortage lists — and Dachdecker is a regulated trade under the Gewerbeordnung, so you cannot simply hire crews and start. Premium homeowners here buy long guarantees, proven snow and wind fixing, and a single party responsible for the whole envelope.

Every price band on these pages comes from published national cost guides and contractor marketplaces, normalised to a common format. There is no official transactional dataset for private residential roofing in any of the three countries — anyone quoting you a precise national average is inventing it.
